Miyaichi, affectionately known by his first name Ryo, replaced the disappointing Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 73rd minute vs Bolton and was very bright.

Ryo looked very assured in possession and was a constant threat to Bolton’s backline as he looked to use his pace and skillset to get beyond defenders. The Japanese winger also used his speed to help the team defend as he pressured high and fast and helped out at the back on several occassions.

This was only Ryo’s second appearance for the Gunners, both substitute appearances, and he will now be looking to push on and become a regular fixture in Arsenal’s squad this season.

actually, Ryo is his last name. Most Asian names start off last name first and then first name, like Park Ju-Young and Park Ji-Sung

they do put surnames first but ryo is definitely his japanese equivalent of a first name. if/when he has children they’d be called miyaichi something just like his dad passed the miyaichi name onto him.

Quality video like always, I was disappointed to know he wasn’t going to start again but to for him to make a very strong impact just coming on as a sub late into the game is quiet amazing. Hopefully he keeps it up.

I love Carling cup with arsenal. I know Culann Davies probably has a life other than just making videos but after these games I just want to see five or six different highlight reels; Yennaris, Ozy, Vermaelen, Park, Fabiansky…That being said its good to see Ryo still busting his ass when he comes on. He looks so determined to do everything right in order to maximize the huge amount of talent he has. Great vid.

Umm. Ryo is his given name. In Japan, he’d be called Miyaichi Ryo. Just as you would be called Smith John, if John Smith were your name.

Semantics, what the fuck do they do?
